Kiwanis
Artist: Jack Jensen
The Kiwanis Trail is a walking/biking trail that extends along the north side of the North Saskatchewan River between the Diefenbaker Bridge and the entrance to the Little Red River Park. Traveling this trail is an enjoyable experience at any time, but especially in the fall. There are numerous vistas over the river that are bordered by spruce trees, poplar trees and underbrush, that make ideal subject matter in fall colours. The Kiwanis Trail passes through stands of mature trees, densely packed smaller trees and some open areas, making it an ideal place to look for a variety of birds, small mammals, flowers, wild fruit, mushroom and a host of other things found in nature. As with any urban trail, you can still hear traffic noises but that is a small price to pay for the experience of taking a walk in the forest, without leaving the city.
